A new begining

Well I’ve made a start.

I weighed in this morning at 22st 3lbs (311lbs). I was going to take a note of my measurements but I can’t find a tape measure. I’ve set my first mini goal at 294lbs which will see me at 21st. As I’ve said before I want to take this a stone at a time.

I’ve just had my first proper breakfast in ages. A bowl of porridge, (which exploded all over the microwave, so more practice needed) an apple and a cup of decaf coffee. I’m off caffeine and alcohol for the duration (excluding special occasions).

I’m planning at least 30 mins on Wii Sports later on (mainly tennis and boxing), it may not be the worlds best exercise but it beats sitting on the couch all day which is the extent of my usual Saturday activity. I plan to kick in some more strenuous activity further down the line.

Finding this site has given me the impetus to start this process and hopefully will continue to give me motivation to continue.

Aren’t microwaves a wonderful thing? Hahaha! :) Good luck in your journey!! You CAN do it. It’s funny - you mentioned mini goals, and I was JUST thinking this morning that I ought to set my mini goals at 2 lbs a week or something so I can actually achieve it at some point! I’ve had my mini goal set at 10 lbs now for a LONG time and it’s almost demotivating me.

    You can do this!!

Mini-goals are great! I always set my personal small goals at no more than ten pounds…it keeps me much more motivated when I feel like I’m hitting a goal, as well as seeing those numbers change! I wish you great success and am rooting for you!

Good for you!! I like your attitude. I guess we all should take it one stone, or pound, or kilo at a time. Best wishes to you.

OH, I want a WII!! They are almost impossible to find around here right now unless you’re willing to pay double the price. I’m really looking forward to them coming out with the WII Workout.
Congratulations on getting started, you can do it!

I managed to pick a Wii up during the small moment of time they were quite readily available.
I’ve just done my 30 mins of tennis and boxing and it got my heart rate up.
