2lb down my ticker is moving again
Even though I’m still having TOM issues, day 14 and counting. I have managed to lose 2lbs this week.
So I’m going to keep on doing what I have been doing and hoping I keep seeing results.

Well it is another week with no gain and no loss. TOM is still around so maybe that isn’t helping again. I’m staying positive. I know I’m doing all the right things and the weight will start moving again soon.
I’m trying not to set a specific goal for my holiday, as if I set one and don’t reach it I will be disappointed and I shouldn’t be even if the scale sticks until then I’ll still go over 30lbs lighter than if I hadn’t started this at all.
Hope you all have a good weekend!
I’m doing good this week at least in terms of what I’m putting in my mouth.
I have found the “Food Porn” threads on an Orlando brit’s forum where people post pictures of the food they have eaten in the restaurants. Oh wow I’ve been drooling over my PC. I’m now constantly dreaming of what I might eat when I’m there. Some of the stuff looked like it was designed to feed a Puma.
It has really inspired me to get with the plan (so I have plenty of room for the mountain of food I plan to eat on holiday). Dinner for the past two nights has been grilled chicken with steamed veg and it has tasted really good. Fresh, healthy and delicious. Frame of mind has so much to do with our approach to food. Right now mine seem to be fixed in place.
Okay off to get more inspiration!
I haven’t lost any weight again this week and when I first got weighed I was very disappointed. I’ve had at least as good a week as last week. However in time it has taken me to sort myself out to write this blog, the delight little cramps have started which signal the start of TOM. So at least I know what it was. I just wish it was a monthly occurance, currently it is more like 2 weeks on and 1 week off, which is no fun let me tell you. I think it is time to go back to the docs again.
So this week I guess it’s a case of trying to keep eating right and once this latest go is over I’ll hopefully see the results!
I’ve spent most of this weekend dreaming about my holiday. It isn’t until November but it is three weeks in Orlando. I’m going with my parents, for two main reasons, I am an airline employee so have access to perks etc. and the fact that the motels all have two double beds in the rooms so I can stay for not much extra cost. We have now booked the flights and the theme park tickets (including a day in Discovery Cove for me) and decided where we are staying (my dad’s favourite hobby is looking up holiday things online and finding a bargain). Although I’m trying not to think about how much cash I now owe my dad.
It’s 11 years since I was last there but other than the theme parks there is one main thing I remember, the food!
Now I am fully aware that it is possible to eat healthily in the area but we didn’t and my dad loves value for money, so we ended up eating at places like the ponderosa steakhouse. I found a link to their website on a forum today and oh the amount of food and the price, the exchange rate is almost $2 to £1 at the moment so I can half any price I see but in lots of cases the stuff we get here is the same amount they just swap a $ for a £.
I think my favourite fast food (we tried out most of the brands!) was the taco bell. I think there is one in London but apart from that it doesn’t exist in the UK. We also ate at the Mexican in Epcot and that was the first time I knew that that sort of food existed other than chilli. I still enjoy it just try to have a healthy version.
I’m a bit dangerous in all you can eat places and I imagine we’ll end up in a few even if we don’t unless something has radically changed the portion sizes are larger anyway. I don’t intend to try to stay on plan but I already know that. I hope that walking miles around theme parks all day will help to counteract the amount of food I will be fueling myself up with.
As I have spend the day thinking about food I’m making myself one of my favourite meals, steak wraps. It has it’s inspiration in fajitas and as I have worked out a way to cook it on plan, it is very filling but isn’t cheating.
I know this was a bit of a mixed up blog but it was my attempt not to eat the entire fridge in the time it took to cook my dinner. As it is now nearly ready I will sign off.
It has been a good week. For the first time in a while I really applied myself to this, no excuses. I’ve lost 4lb and I’m 1lb below my mini goal, so for those of you who work in stones I am 19st 13lbs. I honestly have no idea when I was last this weight but it has been years.
We have been sorting our hoilday out this week and it reminded me of one of the reasons why I wanted to lose the weight. A nine hour flight at the size I was doesn’t bear thinking about, plus as we are going to Florida, I wanted to be comfortable on the rides and have the energy to walk round the parks all day.
We have booked our flights with Virgin Atlantic, which is who I always wanted to fly with. They are comfortable even in economy plus I have a tiny chance of an upgrade with them. A quick look online shows that their seats are 17.5″ wide. A quick measure of my behind shows it is not! So a little way to go there.
I did my shopping online this week. It turned up at 8:00pm last night, so I’m fully stocked up for the week without any of the usual stuff that ends up in the trolley through temptation and I only forgot to get 2 things which is better than normal.
After the last two weekends turned out pretty stressful, this weekend is devoted to relaxation, smash bros on the wii, pokemon on the ds and messing about on the internet.
