How to drink more water

I’ve mentioned on here before that I struggle to drink water as it just doesn’t taste well of anything really. I add a small amount of zero calorie squash or cordial to it and as it now tastes of something I can drink pints of it.

When I mentioned this before my American buddies didn’t know what I was talking about and after a quick search I realised that squash doesn’t exist in America and that there isn’t an equivalent.

What I did discover when I was in Florida in November was that you can buy it over there. It is in the ethnic food aisle along with some other British food.

I don’t know if this was just in Orlando or if it is available elsewhere but you can always take a look.

Hope this helps someone!

Hey there, great ideas to make water a little more tasty, we do have squash here in America, my grandmother always grows it and its been in every grocery store I have shopped at. It just does not seem very popular.
We get our water delivered from the water copany, and we have a water cooler so there is always fresh cold water whenever we want it, and i love it, I drink so much more water now that we get the bottled water for the cooler…..tap water is never fun to drink.
I also stopped buying soda, but my downfall is beer hehe…
Anyway I am going to add you to my buddies ;-) Talk to ya soon!
    Peace!

Water goes down faster if you drink it with a straw. The restaurant industry has known for years that you consume more liquids faster if you suck it through a straw than just drinking from the glass.

I didn’t mean the vegetable. The nearest thing to what I was talking about in America is Gatorade but it’s not really like that either.

I have a problem getting the water in too. it’s not that I don’t like it, it’s just not the first thing I reach for. But I have found that if I put it in a bottle a drink much more. It’s wonderful that you found a way to make it more appealing to you.

I use Kellogg’s K2O protein water or South Beach “Tide Me Over” mix…. It comes in little tubes and you just pour it into your bottle and shake it up. It does add a few calories, but it’s also filling if you’re trying to avoid snacks til dinner time or something. What about Crystal Light? They have several yummy flavors you can add to your water, makes it about 5 calories per serving I think.

Good idea ! I personally use a sugar free vitamin packet that goes in 16ozs. of water ! There are different flavors too ! There is Berries , Kiwi Strawberry and grape ! They taste fantastic and it is easier for me to drink my water ! Hugs, kimmi

For us American’s, its true, we don’t have squash or cordial here like they do in the UK - I lived in the UK for 2 years so I’ll try and describe it. You know the frozen concentrate juices you can get where you defrost them and then mix it with 3 cans of water to make a full jug, well that’s what this is. It’s concentrated, so you mix a little bit into a glas of water at a time.

I love fresh citrus in water. Normally, I drink 16 ounces of water with a slice or two of orange. If I use lemon slices, I add a packet of splenda sweetener to make a light lemonade. Hope this helps you. Cheers!
